Nature and Buildings

whislt watching a documentary about nature taking back the buildings that once cast a shadow on mother earth. it was facinateing how when a city or town is forgotten an civilisation has moved on so does the town in a sense it is re captures by its suroundeings and there comes a point in time were you wouldnt be able to tell there was a town ther. the recaptureing of the work is amazing it showes how nature is always stronger and better than man.

this ideaology of nature reclaiming buildings is interesting from an architectural point of view. to [revent this from happening architects should take the surroundings into consideration and instead of chopping down the tree that is in the way we should use it and work around it.

this idea of being in control reminds me of the green man.
he was really important to the pagan traditions in history and when briton was pagan central people appreciated mother nature fior what she is and respected her. medevil buildings were built slightly shorter than the surroundeing trees so they didnt offend got and his creating and so they didnt dis repect god an be little his work. also the green man figure was placed high in the ceilings of buildings so he wasnt offeded an it showed they regarded him higher than there home and showing respect to nature. this is massively a differant way of thinking than today an i think is a much more moral an beutiful way of thinking.

as well as being interesting the fact that nature can reclaim the modern world over time can create a beutiful image and i want to draw  nature attack of man made objects. i want to draw a tree engulfing a building that is deralict. i think this will be some interesting exxperimentation.
