Agnes Cecile and Illustraters

Agnes Cecile also known as Silvia Pelissero was born in 1991 in Rome. She is an Italian painter and is  best known as agnes-cecile. She went first went to an art high school in Rome, but then she continued as a self-taught artist.

i especially like her work because her use of ink and the movement in her pieces which is really important fro my work because when you depict symbols and there energies you need some sort of movement or the piece doesn't work.

she uses all kinds of materials to create her work such as water, acrylic, oil, ink and varnish. i am especially interested in her use of ink and what she calls water.
i have chosen to research her work because i love the fact she is self taught and i feel i am too because i have developed my own style by myself.  also because her work is quite similar to mine the only difference is the subject of her pieces and how i outline mine. i especially love her use of colour, which is very important when you are wanting to add feeling to your work. the emotion you piece deflects is normally mainly created by its colour and each colour depicts a different thing. its really hard to get that perfect balance of colour you don't want to over kill it and Cecile does this perfectly.

Water:
i love these pieces due to there vibrant colours an flowing movement i can see why she labels them water.

Oil and Acrylic:
despite the fact she has used a different material to create these pieces she has managed to achieve a similar style for some of these pieces, in the sense of similar to the water pieces. yest again the colour use is immaculate.

 Ink
i love how she uses ink, its has so much movement and a great composition. her contrast of colours is jus perfect.

Varnish: Cecile helped me realise how amazingly diverse varnish is, before seeing her work i didn't think that an artist uses varnish to create work. personally i wouldnt use it in my work because the line quality is quite bold and crude and id rather colours fade and spread. However her work is amazing and an in site into the materials that can be used to produce amazing work.

Looking back at my work and seeing where my style of work has developed from and which artist i appreciate and like. i have come to realise that illustration is the way forward. my work has come from fine art to illustration and its a transition i love. i feel i have found my distinct style an that illustration as well as some fine art is my way of doing things.
because of this new found pathway i decided to research illustrators and i came across and amazing book called Illustration No.3 and i found so many amazing artists that i wanted to add their work as research. i found so many that i realised i wouldnt have the time or strength to research each individual artist
so to solve this problem i realised i should make one big post about these artists. im going to give the name and a piece of work i like of the artists. therefore you will gain an understanding of what work i like and have been somewhat inspired from.i have chosen these pieces either because of  the colour, symbolism, movement or just because it is similar to my style. the artists are so amazing they speak for themselves.
